Marc Latza
"From the practice for the practice !"
The author, born in 1974, has been working as a trained insurance salesman for both insurance brokers and insurance companies since 1994 and has been trained through part-time courses in:
Liability underwriter (DVA)
Technical Underwriter (DVA)
· Insurance Risk Manager (IOFC)
· certified fire protection officer
The author regularly offers seminars on various insurance-related topics. The content of the seminar on the topic "1x1 of architect liability" was checked by the NRW Chamber of Architects in 2014 and recognized as a further training event for architects and engineers!
This book not only creates the perfect symbiosis of theory and practice, it also includes the right amount of insurance-related information and perspectives.
The theoretical knowledge for the training is conveyed on almost 500 pages and a wide range of information is provided for practice. On the basis of this book, the fire protection officer can go into the next meeting with insurance companies and authorities on an equal footing.
The range of the 11 chapters is enormous.
The book begins with basic knowledge about the work as a fire protection officer / fire protection officer (role of the entrepreneur, who needs a fire protection officer, legal basis, distinction between internal / external fire protection officers, etc.) and risk assessment and then goes on to basic knowledge of fire theory (fire triangle, protection goals, normal conditions , backdraft, rollover, flash-over, self-ignition, fire curve and much more).
Important topics such as fire extinguishers, fire brigades, fire classes, extinguishing water quantities, building heights and types of construction are not neglected.
The reader is then informed about insurable risks (including terror and amok) and their exact scope as well as the perspectives and requirements of insurance companies (fire wall, complexes, fire compartments, PML, general safety regulations).
The exact assessment of building materials, their fire behavior and the different types of fire protection can also be found in this specialist book.
The current topic of e-mobility and the need to revise the corresponding systems will also be addressed.
In the other chapters, apart from explosions and business interruptions, the peculiarities of certain types of operation (warehouses, wood, metal, plastic, textiles, etc.) are also dealt with.
Overall, this book is characterized by easy readability, meaningful graphics, excerpts of paragraphs and guidelines as well as meaningful comparisons and tables.
The whole thing is rounded off by detailed lists of abbreviations and keywords.
All in all, the author has succeeded in creating a standard work for training and later work as a fire protection officer.
On more than 270 pages, the second edition of this book brings a very complex topic closer to the reader.
With "Insurance solutions for the construction industry / compact" the author has succeeded in creating a clear and easy-to-understand reference book on the insurance options for a wide range of professions.
Topics such as
- Liability insurance
- Engineering insurance
- Guarantee insurance
- hydraulic engineering
- Tunnel construction
- Blasts
brought closer to the reader.
All in all, an easily understandable reference work has been created here, in which the author has deliberately avoided extensive paragraphs, legal texts and conditions.
This book is suitable for office and field staff as well as supporting learning material for prospective business administrators (BWV) and liability underwriters (DVA).
The 6th revised version of a now established standard work for prospective technical underwriters and professionals from the field has been editorially revised and meaningfully supplemented in detail.
Topics such as fire theory, behavior of building materials in the event of fire, insurable hazards, etc. are described in this edition on 436 pages (44 more pages), 56 of which are in color (10 more pages).
Furthermore, the previous motto: "How does what burn and how can it be prevented?" is followed and basic knowledge such as the spread of heat, self-ignition, fire progression, extinguishing systems, fire classes, explosion protection, business interruption, number of fire extinguishers required, PML, complex formation and technical brokered insurance.
Important details about the fire brigades, extinguishing water supply and a detailed index have been added. For the first time, an additional perspective on the required number of fire extinguishers (according to ASR A2.2) is included in this book to show the different perspectives of insurers and occupational safety guidelines in practice with fire protection concepts.
A comparison of criteria for an inspection of electrical systems, broken down by VdS, DGUV 3 and E-Check, which has been included for the first time, is also helpful
This book is suitable for back office and field service and as supporting learning material for prospective Technical Underwriters (DVA).
This book explains the complex world of liability insurance in a way that has probably never been seen before in a very simple and easy way.
Basic topics (“What and how much does liability insurance pay?”, “Which contract starts and insurance claim definitions are there?”) make it easier to get started with the topic and then lead to more and more demanding points in the area of specialists and underwriters.
The chapters cover the topics "Basics", "Private liability risks", "Pet owners", "Public liability risks", "Product liability / ePH", "Automotive trade & crafts", "Professional liability risks", "Land vehicles", "Environmental liability and environmental damage insurance “.
A particularly interesting chapter is "Particular combination options with a BHV", in which "outside the box" other insurance options are looked at than the classic business liability, e.g. BHV and carrier liability, BHV and erection insurance, BHV and hook load insurance, BHV and cyber -Policies.
The 11 chapters on almost 500 pages contain 93 paragraphs (including BGB, VVG, GüKG) and 188 excerpts from judgments (including “Honda Case”, “Milupa Judgment”, “Ikea Clause”) so that readers can develop a sure instinct , or in customer discussions, be able to consult court decisions from practice for a better understanding of a risk.
Everyday topics such as "Who is liable when the Advent wreath is burning", "Liability in the event of snow and ice", "Delimitation between BHV and trade/craft" or "What are the advantages of co-insuring the exchange of individual parts" make this book an indispensable companion in everyday business or during your studies, because this book is crowned with worksheets and exercises that the publisher makes available for download. This standard work can therefore also be used in the field of training and further education.
The book is suitable for the area of training and further education, as well as for beginners, liability underwriters and specialists, both in the office and in the field.
